What has become of many of the Palestinians who became refugees in 1948?

Many still live in refugee camps


Most have become Israeli citizens


They have been given a state of their own in which to live.


They have given up any claim to return to the land they lost in 1948.

During the 1948 Palestine War, around 85% (720,000 people) of the Palestinian Arab population of what became Israel fled or were expelled from their homes, to the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and to the countries of Lebanon, Syria and Jordan.
