a person can paint a room in 6 hours while it takes another person to 5 hours to paint the same room how long would it take them to paint the room if they work together

let x =  time they take working together . Then:-

1/5 + 1/6 = 1/x

Multiply through by 30x:-

6x + 5x = 30
11x = 30
x = 30/11 = 2.73

answer is 2.73 hours to nearest hundredth
