Matthew Perry's opening of Japan helped lead to C. The Meiji Restoration. Matthew Perry played a big role in this event as well as in development of Japan history. When the Convention of Kanagawa took place, Japan put an end to the ideology of feudal Tokugawa and made the country be the empire of the Meiji government. Keep in mind that Tokugawa was the last feudal Japanese military government, so this event is really significant is history of Japan.
