The 3 types of muscle tissue are Cardiac, Smooth and Skeletal. Cardiac muscle cells are located in the walls of the heart, appear striated, and are under involuntary control. Smooth muscle is found in the walls of the hollow organs like your intestines and stomach. They work automatically without you being aware of them. Skeletal muscles move the body. Skeletal muscle contractions pull on tendons, which are attached to bones.
Cardiac muscle: A type of muscle tissue that is found only in the heart and is distinguishable from the two other forms of muscle, smooth muscle (that moves internal organs, such as the bowels, and vessels, such as the artery walls) and skeletal muscle (that powers joints). Cardiac muscle is responsible for pumping blood throughout the body.
