Before any interaction with a different culture group, I should consider what I know about that culture group. What I know about the Brobdingnagians is that they are huge people, towering over regular-size humans. In addition, I know that they value knowledge and merit above nobility. Their learning consists of morality, history, poetry, and practical mathematics: the Brobdingnagians value practicality and clarity over most anything else. Unfortunately, the Brobdingnagians tend to treat smaller-stature people as less than them, more like dolls or creatures than people. What I realize about the Brobdingnagians is that they are quite similar to me in their opinions about learning, merit, practicality, and clarity.
I imagine that camping with the Brobdingnagians could be problematic. Their large stature and unwillingness to see small-stature people as equals would make constant interaction difficult. However, I do believe that we could all spend time together each evening chatting around a campfire. Our conversations about learning or practicality would bring us together, and as long as we did not spend a lot of time together, the Brobdingnagians would have little opportunity to treat others as less equal than them.
