Duodenal is the first section of the small intestine and it is also called proximal or anterior intestine, which is the principal site for iron absorption. The duodenum measures 10-12 inch and has C-shaped structure lying next to the stomach. In addition, it is further divided anatomically into four sections. Namely, part one is the superior part, part two descending part, part three is horizontal part and part four is the ascending part.
