Select the sentence in this passage that demonstrates the fallacy of oversimplification.

The civil war was the bloodiest conflict in the history of the United States. More than 600,000 soldiers lost their lives. The fighting took place in many different cities and throughout the countryside. The wounded often suffered acute pain in the field hospitals. They all should have asked for better care. William Hammond, the surgeon general of the Union army, created a new system of sanitary field care. If people do not accept Hammond as the most important person from the Civil War, they have no understanding of the war.

Respuesta :

The Civil War was America's bloodiest conflict.  The unprecedented violence of battles such as Shiloh, Antietam, Stones River, and Gettysburg shocked citizens and international observers alike.  Nearly as many men died in captivity during the Civil War as were killed in the whole of the Vietnam War.  Hundreds of thousands died of disease.  Roughly 2% of the population, an estimated 620,000 men, lost their lives in the line of duty.  Taken as a percentage of today's population, the toll would have risen as high as 6 million souls.

Answer:
