Proportions are a way of showing that something equals this. Here are some examples to solve and just examples:-

Examples:-

1. [tex] \frac{1}{3}= \frac{2}{6} [/tex]
 ♥1 × 2 = 2
 ♥3 × 2 = 6

2. [tex] \frac{10}{20} = \frac{15}{x} [/tex]
To solve for x we will do the following:-

Cross multiply:-

 15 × 20 = 300

Divide:-

300 ÷ 10 = x
300 ÷ 10 = 30
x = 30

So our proportion will now look like:-

[tex] \frac{10}{20}= \frac{15}{30} [/tex]

Hope I helped ya!!
A proportion in math is when two ratios are equivalent, that means they are equal to each other.

Example of a proportion:

4/5 = 8/10

Since they are equal, they are proportional.
