For similes, your comparing using like or as, for metaphors, your comparing without using like or as. So in this your just inserting words (that make since, of course) I'll give you the first to answers to Similes and Metaphors, if you need any more help you can let me know.

Simile-A friend is like a ice cream cone, or Friendship is like a mountain.

Metaphor-A friend is a sibling.
I’ll give you a few options they aren’t really that good.
1. A friend is like my sister/ brother
2 or friend ship is like family
3 A friend is as sweet as a lollipop
5 when I am sad I am like a gray cloud
6 my dog is as fast as a car

Metaphor
1 my friend is family
2 friend ship is sweet
4 he was a wall through all of their trouble
