There might be an increase in the number of opium farms in Southeast Asia because the prices of crops are declining. Many farmers only means of income is farming and with the decline in prices, it makes them to turn to other mean of income. Another reason would be opium prices are high and many make a living off of selling them. The purchasing power of their currency is declining as well. So the answer would be All of the above.
