Robert Clive was the main figure during the British Occupation of India. He helped secure the military supremacy of the British East India Company in Bengal, India's most wealthy region. Through his letters, Clive would constantly inform about the improvements regarding British influence in India to the Crown back in England. These claims would result to be highly contradictive, as the Sepoy Rebellion, also known as the Indian Revolution occurred in 1857. Indian's claimed unfair tariffs were imposed by the British East India Company, as a perception that there was British interference in Indian public affairs.
