For the answer to the question above, in the U.S. indigenous people are treated like an outcast like the Indians or American-Indians which are the first settlers of America. In Canada, They embraced them and study with them. They treat them as a normal Canadian.

Because Metis are considered as an outcast ora different race in the U.S. they were treated differently. They don't have the opportunity to the white people of America, they are being discriminated because of where they come from and what race they are. So they hide or stay in the mountains.
