Alright, here we go.... I hope this helps!

1) Stretch - Think that it is pulled away or stretching.

2) Vertex - Think the very top or point of something.

3) Translation - It contains the letters "SL" just like slide.

4) Quadratic - 2nd degree means y = x^2

5) Parent Function - Think the main type of the function, like a parent of a family.

6) Reflection - Think looking into a mirror

7) Parabola - It looks like that letter U

8) Axis of Symmetry - Think that a butterfly is symmetrical

9)  Transformation - Think changing from one place to another.

10) Zeros - Roots are when the equation is equal to zero.

11) Compression - Think that something is pushed down or compressed.

12) Family of Functions - Think that family have similar characteristics

13) System of Equations - Think a system is a group of things.

Hello!

1) A quadratic function is one of the form f(x) = ax2 + bx + c, where a, b, and c are numbers with a not equal to zero. The graph of a quadratic function is a curve called a parabola. Parabolas may open upward or downward and vary in "width" or "steepness", but they all have the same basic "U" shape

2) Parabola is a symmetrical open plane curve formed by the intersection of a cone with a plane parallel to its side. The path of a projectile under the influence of gravity ideally follows a curve of this shape.

3) The vertex of a parabola is the point where the parabola crosses its axis of symmetry. If the coefficient of the term is positive, the vertex will be the lowest point on the graph, the point at the bottom of the shape.

4) An axis of symmetry is a line through a shape so that each side is a mirror image. When the shape is folded in half along the axis of symmetry, then the two halves match up.

5) A zero or root of a polynomial function is a number that, when plugged in for the variable, makes the function equal to zero. To find all the zeros of a polynomial function and the possible rational roots of a polynomial equation, use the rational zero theorem.

6) Transformation is a process by which one figure, expression, or function is converted into another that is equivalent in some important respect but is differently expressed or represented.

7) Translation is the movement of a body from one point of space to another such that every point of the body moves in the same direction and over the same distance, without any rotation, reflection, or change in size.

8) Think of Compression as shortening the graph

9) A reflection is the conceptual operation of inverting a system or event with respect to a plane, each element being transferred perpendicularly through the plane to a point the same distance the other side of it.

10) Think of Stretching as expanding the graph

11) A family of functions is a set of functions whose equations have a similar form. The “parent” of the family is the equation in the family with the simplest form. For example, y = x2 is a parent to other functions, such as y = 2x2 - 5x + 3.

12) A parent function is the simplest function that still satisfies the definition of a certain type of function. For example, when we think of the linear functions which make up a family of functions, the parent function would be y = x.

13) A system of equations is a collection of two or more equations with a same set of unknowns. In solving a system of equations, we try to find values for each of the unknowns that will satisfy every equation in the system. The equations in the system can be linear or non-linear.

Hope it helps!
