Pretty simple... What you need to understand is the fact the shape seems to be a circle and a triangle.. After carefully looking at it, the area of the shape is actually the area of the major sector + area of triangle...

Area of major sector = (360-θ) /360 × πr²

(360-45)/360 × 22/7 × 5²

Area of major sector = 68.75cm²...

Now we calculate the area of the triangle...

You could do the using herons formula or ½abSinθ

Now using sine rule since my triangle is an isosceles, one side is x the other is also x. So

a/SinA = b/SinB = c/SinC

x/Sin67.5 = 28/Sin24

x = (28Sin67.5)/Sin45

x = 36.58..

So area of triangle = ½abSinθ
Where my θ here is 67.5

So I have ½ × 36.58 × 28Sin67.5

Area = 473.13cm²

Area of the shape = area of triangle + area of the major sector..

So area of shape = 473.13cm²+68.75cm²

541.88cm².....

Hope this helped...
