the length

[tex]8 \div \frac{1}{4} = 32 [/tex]

the width

[tex]4 \div \frac{1}{4} = 16[/tex]

the height

[tex]2 \frac{1}{4} \div \frac{1}{4} \\ = \frac{9}{4} \div \frac{1}{4} = 9[/tex]

so the amount of small cubes is
[tex]32 \times 16 \times 9 = 4608[/tex]

I believe that 4608 is the answer
