The SDS (Students for a Democratic Society) is battling due to the gap between the rich and poor, the YAF (Young Americans for Freedom) is battling on the grounds that the government doesn't merit the influence they have, and the counterculture is battling on the grounds that they are heading out the old ideas by revolting. Firmly identified with the New Left, this was another young culture disdainful of the qualities and traditions of middle class society. The most obvious trademark was an adjustment in individual styles.
