It is likely that Abigail will become more religious after her mother's death. Adopting a religious or a spiritual practice is a common way of coping with death or trauma. There are positive and negative ways religion can affect the grieving process- it can either offer comfort or become a source of inner conflict, for example when a person develops issues with faith.
