Rejected the plan--At the directive of the USSR, the Soviet Union and their satellite countries rejected the economic help of the Marshall Plan.
Creating a sphere of influence the Marshall Plan ended up supporting democratic countries and the Soviet Union installed communism within their satellite nations. The West saw this as a threat and the spread of communism which would lead to the creation of NATO to protect Western nations.
