The main issue anthropologists have with the work of political scientists studying conflicts in the Middle East is that they do not address the amount of cultural diversity that exists in the region. Anthropologists study humans and how they interact past and present within societies. When anthropologists study how humans interact they study everything from social, cultural, politics and norms/values. The political scientists strictly focus on political aspects and miss other important parts of why diversity exists.
