Why did the Salem Witch trials end?
A. The Puritans had caught and executed all of the witches.
B. The governor was executed as a witch and the trials ended.
C. The governor's wife was accused and he ordered them to stop.
D. The Puritans realized what they were doing was wrong and stopped

Respuesta :

The most correct answer here is C.

The fact that the governor's wife was accused was one of the reasons that the trials ended but it was a fairly significant one as it signaled to the governor that the paranoia and fear were getting out of control. Also the efforts of Increase and Cotton Mather to prohibit the use of dreams and visions as evidence helped end the trials.

the correct answer is c

C. The governor's wife was accused and he ordered them to stop

The governor of the colony, upon hearing that his own wife was accused of witchcraft ordered an end to the trials. however twenty people and two dogs had already been executed in the trials.
