Parallelism involves arranging thoughts in relation to each other.
Contrasting parallelism is where the thought presented in one line is strengthened by a contrasting statement in the next line. For example in "For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish." (Psalm. 1:6)"
Synonymous parallelism is when the thought in the first line is repeated in different words without expanding the original thought.
Synthetic parallelism is when the second line is the continuation of the thought of the first line by expanding or explaining and can be cause and effect or proposition and conclusion.
