Mean annual temperatures are usually 7–13 °C (45–55 °F) in lowland areas, the winters are mild, and the summers are relatively moderate, rarely having monthly temperatures above 20 °C (68 °F).
West Coast. In the north-western states (Washington, Oregon), the weather is cool and rainy along the west coast and along the west-facing slopes, in cities like Seattle, Portland, and Eugene. Average temperatures in winter are about 3/5 °C (37/41 °F), but every so often, cold air masses from Alaska can arrive here.
