1. (11)-(-8)=11+8=19
2.200-(20+30)+(40)=190

add the absolute values |-8| + 11 = 19

2. The change in Mike's value is -10
(or 190, if you need the final value)
he is subtracting 20 + 30 (50)
he is adding +40 to the -50 (-10)
